Arlo Armstrong, born and raised in the Bay Area, started working in a cabinet shop at age 15 for his shop teacher’s personal shop. As he attended college at night to find what he was going to do for the rest of his working career, he continued to work in 2 different cabinet shops. When cabinets weren't broad enough for him anymore, he decided finish carpentry was something to tackle and tried that for a few years. Finish Carpentry then led to managing many large jobs for a couple of different General Contractors. At age 25 Arlo decided to get his own General Contracting License (AA Builders) and do it for himself. After a few years of General Contracting and installing other people's cabinets, he realized his true passion for fine wood working and started a custom cabinet shop. In 2004 AA Builders became Der Tischler Inc. a German phrase for “The Carpenter”. To this day he has a cabinet shop in Brentwood and a showroom in Discovery Bay, CA and is Designing, Selling modular, semicustom and custom cabinetry. Advising and making people's dreams come to reality is his specialty.    Der Tischler, Inc. is a Cabinet Design and General Contracting Consulting company with a  professional team to help in all aspects of your construction projects. We interviewed several contractors and decided to go with Arlo because he was honest, down to earth, and offered the best design. He really thinks beyond the box. He remodeled our kitchen and then installed our floors. Beautiful job ! A very talented man ! Thank you Arlo !

Arlo is AMAZING! He did a total kitchen remodel and it looks awesome. My cabinets are beautiful! He can do it all from designing to completion. He is the real deal!
